Bay Photography was set up by Nicki and Kirk O’Donoghue to be both a high quality, professional studio and a relaxed child and family friendly space. We have a large purpose built studio with a three sided infinity cove ( Cyclorama ) to run jump and play on. Great for capturing kids being kids and large family groups. When you arrive at our studio, Nicki will welcome you and your family inside. She will manage your photo shoot session, keeping in mind the ages of any children in your family. Before becoming a Mum of two beautiful girls, Nicki was a primary school teacher. She has worked with 4 – 9 year old children both in New Zealand and England. She also did a stint in Early Childcare working with babies and preschoolers. Once her first child came along, Nicki became interested in documenting her own daughter’s life through photography and went on to set up a family portrait photography business. After baby number two, she put that on the back-burner and focused on being a full time Mum. Nicki loves working with children and has experience wrangling kids of all ages and stages.   Kirk is the primary photographer. He sits quietly behind the lens and captures it all, from the set up poses, to the Kung Fu kicks, to the little relaxed moments in between. Kirk has been working as a professional photographer for the past 14 years, mostly selling his own photographic art work to national and international customers, with a bit of client work sprinkled in for good measure. He has his own workshop where he prints and frames all his work. New Zealand Landscapes and birds are his jam, some of which can be viewed at Pohutukawa Gallery in Mount Maunganui.
